DESCRIPTION:

The GPS6160 is a PC/104 low-power 12-channel GPS satellite receiver module. It is powered by the Fastrax iTrax03-02 GPS engine.

The module has an OSX/MCX antenna jack. Both active and passive antenna jacks are supported. The module is also available as Starter Kit, which includes an antenna.

For general-purpose digital I/O interfacing a 16-bit digital I/O port is provided. These I/O’s are ideal for interfacing to LCD displays, LED’s push buttons or other low power controls.

The GPS6160 uses a standard 16C550 UART interface. It functions as a standard COM port. This allows it to be immediately compatible with all modern operating systems.

Example GPS message parsing software is provided for DOS, Windows, and Linux. The GPS6160 is also compatible with popular commercial GPS software packages.
